supernatural zombies

Supernatural zombies are typically the most easy to identify as well as the most difficult to dispatch, and can be thought of as belonging to three distinct groups: Satanic/demonic zombies, vudu zombies, and cursed zombies.

Curse zombies are believed to be notoriously difficult to kill. They are notable for the ability to remain both independently and cooperatively sentient not just after zombification, but (as noted elsewhere) even after decapitation and removal of limbs. Even hacked-off limbs can be dangerous. In Peter Jackson's Dead Alive, the only certain way to stop a curse zombie was by liquification (either with a lawnmower or by placing in a food processor).

Curse zombies are fairly intelligent, and can typically speak. Jackson's zombies can even reproduce sexually.

Demonically induced zombies, like curse zombies, are intelligent and difficult to kill. Hacked-off limbs and heads retain agency, and they are extremely chatty. Fire is the most effective method, as corpses must be completely destroyed to remove the danger they pose.

It is nearly impossible to confuse a curse zombie from a living human being, as the dead's appearance is greatly affected by demonic possession of the corpse.

Figures A and B (above) are representative demonic demons, as postulated by Raimi (1981).

Vudu zombies cannot self-reproduce and rarely bite. They are not infectious. They are created by a great expenditure of energy and resources by a zombi master, or vudu priest. They can only be stopped by stopping this master.

As seen in The Serpent and the Rainbow, these reanimated humans can speak, and even blend in to unaware human populations.

They do not pose a serious risk of horde behavior, but are notable as the only type of zombie of which we have actual reports; thus, like werewolves and vampires, they are the least likely to exist.
